Health & Beauty BreakDowns: Make-up Myths Part 2 - WNDU

Posted: 26 May 2010 01:54 AM PDT

Mineral makeup is made of all natural ingredients
Depends:
This is partially true, but can be misleading. Mineral makeup is makeup stripped down to a few bare essentials, without the fragrances, dyes, and many other synthetic ingredients cosmetic companies have put in makeup for years.

However, not every brand of mineral makeup is as pure or natural as it is advertised. Some companies add synthetic ingredients, yet still label the product as mineral makeup. The current trend in cosmetics, skincare, and nearly every product imaginable, is for all things to be natural and environmentally friendly. The cosmetic marketing industry has pounced on this, advertising the benefits of an all-natural product and the woes of a synthetic chemical.

The truth is that some cosmetic companies produce mineral makeup with only natural, gentle ingredients. Whether the mineral makeup is all natural or not, if you are satisfied with the results, everyone is happy.
