BELLEVUE, Wash., May 5, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- drugstore.com, inc. (Nasdaq:DSCM), a leading online retailer of health, beauty, vision and pharmacy products, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with BioScrip, Inc. (BIOS), through its BioScrip Pharmacy Services subsidiary, to sell the assets of its pharmacy subsidiary and to have BioScrip provide, through a strategic partnership, pharmacy services to drugstore.com customers. drugstore.com expects its customers' transition to the new platform to be seamless. Customers will be able to continue to order and refill their prescriptions through the drugstore.com website. Through this relationship, BioScrip will provide our customers with an expanded Specialty Pharmacy product offering, robust clinical resources and greater access to third party insurance reimbursement including Medicare. The agreement is expected to close mid-year.

DS Pharmacy will sell its assets to BioScrip Pharmacy Services for $10.9 million, subject to certain adjustments. BioScrip will pay $5.9 million at the closing of the sale, subject to adjustment for changes in inventory, and approximately $5.0 million into escrow over the 12 months following the closing. The final amount paid out of escrow will be determined after the 12-month period based on the profitability of the prescription pharmacy business during that period. Additionally, at closing, the parties will enter into a 5-year marketing agreement allowing drugstore.com pharmacy customers to continue to order as they always have through the drugstore.comTM web store. BioScrip will pay drugstore.com a fee to continue to market the drugstore.com pharmacy which will be served by BioScrip.

Shape Run hits 10k in 9 days - Straits Times

SHAPE Run 2010 closed registration for its women-only event just nine days after it started. All 10,000 places for its 5km and 10km categories run on July 25 were taken up in that short span of time.

Registration began at midnight on Friday, April 30, at www.shape.com.sg. Within eight hours, just a third of the slots remained. It took less than 24 hours for sign-ups to hit 8,000 - some 18 hours quicker than last year.

Jeanette Wang, associate editor of Shape, said: 'We are completely bowled over by the response. To all the 10,000 lucky women who managed to snag a slot, congratulations! Rest assured, we will be working hard in the next three months to ensure Shape Run 2010 will be a positively memorable experience for you.'

Shape, Singapore's premier health, fitness and wellness magazine for women, started the event in 2006 and sparked off a trend of women-only runs. Shape Run has since grown from strength to strength, from 2,500 runners in the inaugural event, to 6,000 (in 2007) and then 8,000 (in 2008 and 2009).

In 2008, Shape Run expanded into a regional series, with events introduced in Malaysia and Thailand to great success. Individual 5km and 10km champions of the Singapore leg were sponsored to run in these two events.

A fortnight before race day, all 10,000 participants will then congregate at the Shape Run carnival where the latest health, beauty and fitness products and services will be on show. Participants will also be given their Nike running tee, number tag and a handy Shape Run booklet brimming with race, health and nutrition tips. Held from July 9-11 at Marina Square Central Atrium Level 2, the carnival is also open to the public.
