drugstore.com, inc. (Nasdaq:DSCM), a leading online retailer of health, beauty, vision and pharmacy products, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with BioScrip, Inc. (BIOS), through its BioScrip Pharmacy Services subsidiary, to sell the assets of its pharmacy subsidiary and to have BioScrip provide, through a strategic partnership, pharmacy services to drugstore.com customers. drugstore.com expects its customers' transition to the new platform to be seamless. Customers will be able to continue to order and refill their prescriptions through the drugstore.com website. Through this relationship, BioScrip will provide our customers with an expanded Specialty Pharmacy product offering, robust clinical resources and greater access to third party insurance reimbursement including Medicare. The agreement is expected to close mid-year.

"We strongly believe we should offer our customers the convenience of a pharmacy, and in BioScrip we believe that we've found the right company to provide, as well as expand, services to our customers," said Dawn Lepore, chief executive officer and chairman of the board, drugstore.com, inc. "While drugstore.com started more than a decade ago as an online pharmacy, over the past few years, the company has evolved and experienced accelerated growth in health, beauty, and vision products. DS Pharmacy will sell its assets to BioScrip Pharmacy Services for $10.9 million, subject to certain adjustments. BioScrip will pay $5.9 million at the closing of the sale, subject to adjustment for changes in inventory, and approximately $5.0 million into escrow over the 12 months following the closing. The final amount paid out of escrow will be determined after the 12-month period based on the profitability of the prescription pharmacy business during that period. Additionally, at closing, the parties will enter into a 5-year marketing agreement allowing drugstore.com pharmacy customers to continue to order as they always have through the drugstore.comTM web store. BioScrip will pay drugstore.com a fee to continue to market the drugstore.com pharmacy which will be served by BioScrip.

Look Great for Less! Doctor's Top Drugstore Beauty ... - WLTX.com

"The Morning Show" continues it's month long look at health and beauty products that can help you look and feel your best for less!

Today's guest was Dr Asha James, a dermatologist with Columbia Skin Clinic. Asha shared with our viewers her top drugstore picks for beauty products. She says these products work just as well as other beauty products that are priced in the hundreds!

Basic Skin Care:

1. Favorite Body Soap: Dove Sensitive Skin, Unscented:

-Great for whole family over 12 months; lathers well but is still very gentle, moisturizing, and non-irritating; unscented;l great for any skin type

2. Soapless Cleansers: Cetaphil, Cerave, Aquanil

- soapless cleansers which are great for people with sensitive or diseased skin (e.g. eczema or psoriasis) who cannot tolerate soaps

- my cleanser of choice for newborns-1 year of age

- unscented and non-irritating; wont lather!!

- can be used on face and body

3. Body Lotions: Cerave, Cetaphil, and Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion

- I recommend these on anyone and everyone; I never recommend scented lotions and these 3 are my favorite for all skin types for the body

- very gentle, non-irritating, unscented

- Cerave my absolute favorite b/c it has CERAMIDES, which is a natural product found in the skin that helps the skin to retain water (helps to hydrate skin). Comes in a lotion and a cream

4. Facial Cleansers:

a. Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash: MY FAVORITE FACIAL CLEANSER for normal to oily skin; has 2% salicylic acid, which helps maintain skin turnover, keeping the skin exfoliated and healthy; can be drying so avoid if you already have dry skin; great for acne or non-acne skin, even though it is an acne cleanser; great to remove make-up; oil free and non-comedogenic

b. Neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser: great for normal to dry skin; great for removing makeup in a gentle fashion (even eye make up). Very good without any oils or soaps so non-irritating

c. For severely dry skin I would recommend the soapless cleansers

5. Facial moisturizers:

a. Normal to Oily Skin: Purpose with SPF 15 by Johnson and Johnson; non-comedogenic and oil free; gentle and has both UVA and UVB protection so great for daily use; non-irritating

b. Normal skin: Neutrogena Healthy Defense; has spf 30 with UVA and UVB protection

c. Dry skin: Cetaphil facial lotion with SPF 15 (same as cetaphil above)

Office products for Basic Skin Care: (Found at Doctor's offices)

***ALL 4 of these products are under $20.00 each!!

1. Facial cleansers:

a. 10% Gentle Facial Cleanser: Great for someone who needs a little "kick" to their cleansing regimen. Has 10% glycolic acid to help keep skin exfoliated and healthy appearing.

b. 2/2 Gly-Sal Glycolix Wash: 2% glycolic mixed with 2% salicylic acid; great for someone with slightly sensitive skin who is a bit oily; both acids together great for anti-aging (also available in pads)

2. Facial Moisturizers:

a. Glycolix ultra-lite: AWESOME for normal-oily skin; very light and non-pore clogging; great for daily use...even in summer. Full of anti-oxidants which are anti-aging. No sunscreen so would need a separate one.

b. Glycolix fortified: AWESOME for normal-dry skin; full of anti-oxidants and more moisturizing than "a". Need separate sunscreen.

MISCELLANEOUS:

1. Favorite Detergent: All Free and Clear; great for whole family; non-fragranced and chemical free; I would rec this in newborns over dreft and it is cheaper (10.99 v/s 21.99).

2. Favorite Fabric Softener: Bounce Fragrance Free Dryer Sheets (white box). Great b/c no irritating fragrances

3. Favorite Sunless Tanner: Jergens Healthy Glow (gives a nice even color...not streaky)

ANTI-AGING PRODUCTS:

Over the Counter:

Oil of Olay Pro X: New item on the market. Runs about 50.00 for a kit of 3 products. Great because not only does it exfoliate the skin by increasing cell turnover, it moisturizes at the same time which helps to create the same skin that a younger person would have.

Oil of Olay Total Effects and Regenerist: Same as above but has been on the market for a few years; Has some anti-oxidant properties as well.

ROC products: The formula contains a combination of RoC® Retinol and a mineral complex of magnesium, zinc, and copper that has been optimized to improve the appearance of even deep wrinkles. It is the only OTC with Retinol that I recommend because it is gentle as well.\

Doctor's Offices:

1. Oily Skin: TNS ESSENTIAL SERUM; one of the newest and hottest items of the year; Has 7 potent anti-oxidants in one package. Works to lighten dark spots and helps with fine lines and wrinkles. Tightens skin. LOVE IT!!

2. Dry Skin: Neocutis line of products; Has potent anti-oxidants with a very moisturizing base to hydrate skin. Great eye cream called Lumiere (my favorite!).
