AG Suthers should heed Colorado voters on health care - Denver Post Posted: 12 Nov 2010 04:02 PM PST In light of the defeat of Amendment 63 by a 53-47 vote, the people of Colorado have expressed their desire to embrace the Affordable Health Care for America Act (disparagingly know as Obamacare). A March 24 Denver Post editorial ("Health care suit is without merit") was prescient in labeling a lawsuit against the U.S. by Attorney General John Suthers and other state attorneys general "a waste of time." Now that Suthers is no longer running for re-election, it is time for him to get back to the job of attorney general and upholding the will of the people, as evidenced in the vote on Amendment 63. Suthers' website declares that his job is "to preserve Colorado's natural beauty, safeguard our precious water, protect consumers from fraud and prosecute criminals who prey upon our citizens." Please get back to work and drop your politically motivated frivolous lawsuit against the United States! Lee Milner, Colorado Springs This letter was published in the Nov. 13 edition.
